| Determining the task
Upbringing is the central problem of all humanity. If we were able to raise at least one generation properly, then we could be certain that all of the following generations would be brought up suitably and exist optimally in our world, thereby reaching the necessary goal. This is because each generation that receives the right upbringing can and will be capable likewise to adequately raise the next generation.
Alternatively, if we have not succeeded in raising such a correct generation in even one selected society, and if we observe each succeeding generation to be inferior in comparison to the previous, then this bears witness to the fact that humanity has never possessed the correct method of upbringing.
Method of Upbringing
The correct method of upbringing must be based on understanding:
- the true nature of man, society, and humanity (the original state),
- the goal of existence of each person, society, and humanity (the final state),
- the means of bringing each person, society and all of humanity to this goal.
The true nature of man is partially known to us. From life experience we can conclude that man is egoistic and egocentric, that everything he does is for the satisfaction of his needs. The goal of existence or the predestination of man in the world is unknown to us. We do not know the form of our final existence, the meaning for which we strive, the optimal organization of society and the world around us. We can only suppose that nature holds information about our future states, which contain in them the knowledge about the goal of existence of man, society, and humanity.
We cannot know the means of bringing about the goal until we find out about the very goal of our very existence. The knowledge of the true original nature of man and that final state which he, according to the scheme of creation, must reach will give us a chance to understand the qualities required to carry out these changes, which in turn will determine what must form the basis of the upbringing.
The reason for failures in upbringing
It follows from the above that until we come to realize the necessity to define the goal of creation, and from that determine the means of reaching the goal, all our efforts to create the correct method of upbringing will be unsuccessful. The human egoism will contribute to this failure if it continues to grow from generation to generation, and, for the sake of its private egoistic fulfillment, the egoistic character of man will consume everything.
Solution to the problem
It is necessary to broadly investigate the nature of man, so that wide circles of society will become convinced that man, essentially, is an egoistic being. Although such is the nature of our world, man, in contrast to the rest of nature, is not endowed with an inner program of behavior, and so he requires one. Animals do not require upbringing of their offspring, because instincts of behavior lie within their nature, which is sufficient for correct behavior for the entire length of their life. From all creations only one being, man, lacks nature's program for correct behavior; only man is free in choosing his actions. Without realizing this, each person lives with his outlook on life, his goals and the character of actions. He chooses and creates for himself his system of upbringing, and all the systems of upbringing suffer the downfall.
The place of the missing instinctual rules of behavior must be filled with the correct upbringing. Until we learn the laws of nature, and learn to exist correctly in this world, we have nothing to pass on to the next generation. Moreover we will remain uncertain whether we are raising the generations properly, and our entire life will be a consequence of repetitive mistakes. From this it follows that man is obligated to investigate his nature and goal, and on the basis of the investigations, to create a program for his behavior for the lifetime in this world in order to teach it to his offspring.
Upbringing correspondence with the supreme nature
When observing the nature of our world, we find that every type of creation, whether any living thing, cell, or organ, serves the needs of others. This is the natural mechanism of the world, the universe, and reality. All existence acts as a closed system according to a single program. In order to exist in this closed system comfortably, man must be in likeness, homeostasis, and sameness to it. This is achieved by a correct balance between receiving and giving of every person in relation to the surrounding nature and society. Each person's correct formula of behavior, depending on his natural qualities and surrounding opportunities, is calculated in the science of Kabbalah. Thus, without having knowledge of this science, we cannot achieve the correctly balanced interaction with people around us, nature, and society. We will also have nothing to teach our offspring.
